REDE TV! WEBREPORTER

During the period in which I was part of Rede TV!'s Webreporter project, I produced content as a freelancer for both television and website. As a freelance reporter, I could be contacted by producers of any of the TV shows to capture images or sound. Below, article about actress Eva Todor's lecture for theater students at Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras (CAL), in Rio de Janeiro.

Actress Eva Todor, 91 years old, held an inaugural class last Tuesday, April 12, for students on the actor training course at Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras, in Rio de Janeiro.

In front of an audience of more than 70 future actors, the actress spoke about her 76-years uninterrupted career. According to her, her advanced age almost thwarded her from balancing her career on stage and television. "Doing two things at the same time - something I've been doing for many years -, television and theater, became very sacrificial", confessed the actress. Always in a good mood, Eva drew laughter and applause throughout the event. "In my opinion, I'm at the end of the line. The others say "no, you can!", it's just that they only know half the story", she joked. However, the actress assured that she will never stop. "I haven't done theater lately, but I'm stuck with television. I intend to live for many more years, because I like working. But never give up on my career", she declared.

One of the oldest living actresses in Brazilian theater, Eva Todor remembers that she founded a new theatrical genre, the "Gênero Eva". According to the actress, the audience even used to ask at the box office whether the plays were of this genre, otherwise it wouldn´t be worth the price. "The genre arose naturally with improvisation, immediacy and charisma", she explains. "It has continued with me since I was 18 until now. Because it makes no difference being charismatic with a good sense of humor at 80 and at 18", she assured. According to her, "it's better to be an average actress creating a genre than to be a great actress".
